Today Thorpe Park released the news that Slammer would be departing Thorpe Park after 12 years of operation in the old town area. Back in 2005 Slammer opened along with Rush, still operating in the lost city, and gathered large crowds of thrill seekers. Only two Sky Swats were ever produced by S&S Worldwide and Slammer remains the last in the world. Reaching up to 3Gs and speeds of up to 30mph it wasn't Thorpe Parks fastest or most forceful however was many enthusiasts' favourite flat ride!

Here are a few of your reviews:

"Amazing! The backwards rotation is one of the weirdest feelings, especially at the bottom. It was so good we went straight back again on the other side. Has not helped my fear of heights though." Isobel, Farnborough, UK.

"This is probably the most intense ride I have ever been on! Great adrenaline rush!" Tom, York, UK.

"Just horrible! You feel insecure and it goes way too slowly!" Ella, UK.

And finally a video saying goodbye to the much loved ride, Slammer!
